Reblogging my own post with an update from Miranda, the wonderful person who made this dream a reality:

What you see is a Speck Products Fabshell with a Mahogany veneer backed with a 3M adhesive that she laser cut and etched to fit the case. However, due to copyright issues (Speck makes these to be used on Apple products, but can’t put Apple’s trademarked logo on them unless they reach a license agreement with the company which doesn’t seem likely) this is not something you’re going to see online or in your local Apple Store.

To recap: Miranda rules, Brent is lucky to have a friend like her, nothing but jealousy for the rest of us.
